WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT FINAL. (per press association.] , BLENHEIM, September 5. The score in the final of the Dominion women’s hockey tournament, this afternoon was Eastern Southland 5, Otago 1. Eastern thus holds the championship and K Cup for the third year in succession. A large crowd saw a fairly even game, in which Eastern’s superior combination soon placed the issue beyond doubt. Scorers for Eastern were M. White (3), H. Reid, and M. Nicol one each. Otago attacked frequently but lacked sting in the circle and failed to finish off attacking movements. SOUTHLAND V. N. OTAGO. Each side had scored one ; goal at half time. Lindbom (2), and 1 ! Peek scored for the winners, and Vaughan and Eatwell for Cobden. In the second match, Mawhera were no match for the championship winners, Pacific, who won by five < goals to one. Coffey (3), Heaton and * Crase scored goals for Pacific, and 1 Perrin netted the only goal for Ma- J Whera.
