RIFLE SHOOTING

GREYMOUTH v. ROSS. The friendly match between the Greymouth and Ross clubs was fired off on the Grey Club’s range. Grey proved winners by 1097 points to 1063. R. Peek was top scorer for Grey with 77, and W. H. Johnstone and F. Fletcher with 77 were top scorers for Ross. At the conclusion of the shoot supper was provided. The president, Mr L. Forrest (Grey) thanked the Ross members for making the visit and presented the prizes to W. H. Johnstone and F. Fletcher, and the booby prize to L. Houlahan. W. H. Johnstone, on behalf of the Ross Club, thanked the Grey Club for the pleasant shoot, and extended an invitation for a return match at Ross. The following were the scores: —
