LIONESS CALLS ON VICEROY
; LED BY A CHILD. SIMLA, June 10. A lioness lying down with a dog and a little child leading them is Simla’s latest interest. Both animals are pets of Swami Krishnandji, who brought them here from Mr. Gandhi’s training school near Bombay. He says that lions, cows, horses and dogs live together at the school on the friendliest terms “under the influence of Hindu philosophy.” The lioness and terrier can be seen walking or rickshaw riding with their master here. Sometimes people 'stroke the lioness while she looks on I with bored indifference. This morniing a small boy and girl handled her without fear.
