WEATHER FORECAST. General inference: There has been little change in the present distribution over the New Zealand area, but a shallow depression, followed by a sharp rise of pressure, is advancing across the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds, with westerlies predominating, but later freshening, and southerlies again selling in. Weather for the most. part, fair, but with occasional passing showers. Temperatures cold. Seas rather rough, with a southerly swell.
