WIRELESS INTERFERENCE.

[TO THE EDITOR.] Sir, —After reading the various letters in the “Star" from radio listeners on this rampant interference with reception, I would be obliged if you would allow me to add my protest in the hope that something will be done to wipe these hideous noises off the air. 1 would like to know why have not the radio interference regulations been put into action before now or was it just a big piece of bluff to quieten listeners and never was intended to be u,sed. It looks like that to me.

The sky is the Imit in interference with radio reception around Greymouth, and we are going down hill alright with the noise well on. In conclusion, Sir, I heartily agree with one correspondent’s letter of forming a Radio Listeners’ League tn combat this noise, oven if it means forwarding a petition to Parliament. It, would give the Minister of Broadcasting a shock if he could only hear for himself the type of interference that listeners have to put up with around this district. Good luck to the Listeners’ League. Here’s to seeing it in action before long.—Yours, etc.,

PRESTON ROAD

In reference Io the radio interference, the Post Office authorities stated to-day that a great deal of the interference has been found to emanate from an electrical medical appliance, which is being operated in the town. Elimination of interference from such a source is a difficult matter, but steps are now being taken to deal with it, and to see what can be done to minimise the interference caused. —Ed. “Star.”
