RUGBY FOOTBALL
TO-MORROW’S MATCHES The principal match at Rugby Park to-morrow afternoon, will be between Excelsiors (Hokitika), and Stars. Stars have been improving steadily and on recent matches, with Excelsior defeated by Cobden and Blaketown, the amber and blacks should make an even break with the southerners. One or two newcomers to the Star team will strengthen them. As both these teams play attractive football, a bright open game should be witnessed at the Park, to-morrow. On the No. 2 ground at the Park, United and Cobden will provide the senior match. On form, and with Gilbert out of the United team, Cobden, look easy winners, but the United fifteen are young and lively.
The main curtain-raiser will be between United and Cobden Juniors, who should provide a close match, while on the No. 2 ground, the early game will be between Blaketown and Star Juniors.
The third grade fixture, Celtic v. Technical will not be played, owing to the Technical School’s first fifteen playing Hokitika District High School, at Hokitika, to-morrow.
