Th-a West Coast delegate on the New Zealand Council (Mr. J. Redwood) advised that at a meeting of the Council Mr. .1. McClymont had been appointed sole New Zealand selector. However, the Taranaki delegates, who was not present at the meeting. had subsequently tabled a notice of motion to rescind the resolution, and he (Mr. Redwood) understood that Taranaki were not in favour of the sole selector. Personally he was in favour of the sole selector, but as he wished to vote on the matter as West Coast delegates, he asked that he be given instructions before July 21.

Mr. Hunter: As far as I am concerned I am absolutely opposed to a sole selector. 1 think at least there should be three. I cannot see why tire players in other North Island Leagues, as well as the South Island, should not bo given the same opportunities of being viewed by the selector.

The Chairman: 1 certainly agree with you. While.! agree that Mr. McClymont is very capable, I feel that it is bringing the whole thing into too small a circle. At least there should be North Island and South Island selectors, and I think there should be three. Mr. Hunter said that he did not think there was any country which had a., sole selector for an international side. He moved that Mr. Radwood be informed that- the West Coast League was strongly opposed to the idea of a sole selector, 'and further, that they favoured the system in vogue last season, two selectors and an independent! chairman; alsQ that Messrs. J. Amos’

and A. C. Hall be nominated as selectors.

Tho motion was seconded by Mr Rathbun and carried.
