MANAG E M E NT C 0 M M ITT EE. At a meeting of the Management Committee, of the West Coast Rugbj | Union, last evening, there were pre-j sent: Messrs A. A. AtUms (Presidon; ), T. Mclntosh, W. Williams, C. R. Roliinson, .F. Eggleton, W. G. Scott, A. M. Jamieson, J. Kyle (Treasurer), and J. E. Joyce (secretary). It was decided to nominate a West Coast team in the annual Seddon Shield Districts primary schools tournament to be held at Blenheim in August next, and in the event of the New Zealand Union not making a grant for the running of the tournament. to donate £lO towards the expenses of the team. W. Vaughan was transferred from Celtic to Cobden. It was decided to congratulate the Buller Union on the success of their senior and junior representative teams against West Coast last Saturday. I An application from the Dispatch Foundry, and Grey Motors teams for permission to play a challenge match for the Tira Shield, on July 11, was granted, the Union to appoint a referee, and supply a ball. The referee’s report of the PiratesCobden match at Hokitika on Satinday week, was received from the Sub Union, stating that D. Eggleton (Cobden) had been cautioned for striking another player. ‘Die Sub Union had previously recommended that the offender be stood down for one playing Saturday. Baillie said he saw the alleged offence, and could say that Eggleton did not strike the player. Eggleton had got rid of the ball when tackled, and (lie tackler hung on to him. To free himself, Eggleton swung round, and his elbow struck the other player accidentally in the month. He thought that there was no intent on Eggleton’s part to strike the other I player. Mr Mclntosh thought that when the offence, was not considered serious enough to warrant Eggleton’s being ordered off, the recommendation that he be stood down for one playing Saturday, was rather harsh.

It was decided to administer a can lion to Eggleton.

Regarding the question of a shelter at Rugby Park, deferred from last week, Mr Scott said that the party of enthusiasts, who had ap-l pioached him, were prepared Io submit plans and specifications of the shelter, which it was proposed should bo erected at the south end of the stand. The members of the syndicate would take the responsibility of keeping others off the stand, and would hand the building over to the Union, when the Union erected a stand of its own. He assured the Union that the stand would be substantial. The Chairman said the Union could consider the request when the plans and specifications were seen, but they should be careful about creating a precedent. It was agreed to defer consideration until the plans and specifications are submitted. FIXTURES. Fixtures were arranged for Saturday, as follow: — Senior: Blaketown y, Kiwis, Hoki-
