ALLEGATIONS OF FRAUD

[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

CHRISTCHURCH, June 22.

A motion asking for the investigation of the affairs of the Golden Gully and Development Coy. Ltd., in liquidation. was carried unanimously at. this morning’s meeting of the contributories of the Company. The motion expressed that the contributories desire that the Official Assignee as liquidator. should inquire into allegations of fraud and if necessary obtain through the Supreme Court a public examination of Allan Reginald Perry, director of the Company, and also of the secretary, E. J. Woolf. The Official Assignee who presided ruled out of order a second motion: “That the meeting feels that other directors of the Company have not exercised the diligence and care expected of them in the management of the Company’s affairs, but recommends the Official Assignee and Official Liquidator of the Company that no action be taken against any one or more of them.” The motion that was carried read: “That this meeting recommends that the Official Assignee as liquidator of the Company, investigate charges of fraud alleged by contributories at this meeting, and if he is satisfied that substantial grounds exist for the allegations, he report the matter to the Supreme Court with a view to obtaining a public examination of Allan Reginald Perry( director of the Company) and also of the Secretary. E. J. Woolf."

Mr. R. A. Young, solicitor for Mr. H. C. Milne, moved a motion calling for investigation. Mr Woolf, the secretary mentioned, seconded the resolution. stating he would welcome a public examination. He had no fear of the result of such a course.

Mr. Perry said he wished to say the same thing regarding himself. After lengthy discussion, the motion was carried.
