; Mr. Gros said 2-J hours' notice was i the rule of his cafe. Miss Legal was •dismissed because of the complaint !about her finger-nails.' She was also 'slow in her service. I Mr. Registrar Friend; I did not [know that a ijcrson having unreal paid attention to the waitress’s hands. I have- hoard of a waiter being asked to take his thumb out of the soup, and I 'can understand an impressionable •young man noticing that the waitress has a pretty face, or, in the naughty , ’nine!ies, a neat ankle. 1 Mrs. Mary Evelyn Gros said the i complaint was made by a woman who I was lecturing at a neighbouring mhool, Women were more susceptible to those things than men. They , rmiter enjoyed making complaints.
I Miss Legal suggested that no com plaint could have been made, as the customer left a tip. Regarding the allegation of slow sendee, she remarked that part of the menu was written in French, and it. took her some time to uiiderfttand it. Judgment was given for the defendants with costs.
