REEFTON, June 16
Temperatures have been milder for some days and the district has experienced a slight fall of rain. This will be welcomed on the farms as in places in the Inangahua Valley' the creeks tire low, and farmers have been, in some cases, compelled to cany water.
Mrs. A. D. Lawn was removed to hospital yesterday- to undergo a course of treatment following an illness of some weeks.
In the Possibles v. Probables Rugby match to select a junior team to meet Greymouth on June 23. the latter team won by' 14 to 6.
League results at Reefton were: Inangahua Junction 14, Ahaura 11. Waratah 24 Waiuta 13. In the junior matches, Mawheraiti 15 Reef[on 5.
Waiuta 11 Inangahua Junction 8, were the scores.
An employee of the Alexander Mine, M. Skokandie. was brought, to Reefton during the week-end having sustained a cut right hand and wrist as a result of being struck with a piece of quartz which fell from the face. The wound necessitated the insertion of 12 stitches.
