LINDBERGH ANNIVERSARY

PARIS, June 13.
Celebrating the tenth anniversary of Colonel Lindbergh’s flight across the Atlantic, an air race, open to the world, taking the Lindbergh route, is planned, to start from New York, on May 20, 1937.
WEST INDIES SERVICE.
RUGBY, June 12.
The Colonial Secretary stated, in a Parliamentary reply, to-day, that the Government was considering the possibility of the establishment of a British air service in the West Indies, but he was not v et in a position to mak’9 any statement on the subject.
N.Z. MAIL SERVICE
WELLINGTON, June 15.
The experimental period of three months for inland air mail service expires to-day, and although the support accorded to it has proved disappointing, a further trial of three months is to be given. The matter was discussed at a Cabinet meeting, and Mr Jones, later, stated there would he no change in the conditions, and it was hoped the further trial would bring about more substantial support for the service.
