LEAGUE FOOTBALL
TO-MORROW’S TRIAL GAME
For the first time this season League fans will, to-morrow, be given an opportunity of comparing the relative merits of prospective representative players, when a Possibles v. Probables trial match will be played at Wingham Park, with a view to selecting the representative thirteen to meet Inangahua on June 23. The selectors have endeavoured to balance the teams, and this, coupled with the fact that representative: honours largely depend on the match, should ensure some bright football. Many of the keenest rivals for the respective position in the rep. team will be opposed to each other, and the game can be expected to be exceptionally interesting. In the lower grades, Pirates and Runanga juniors meet at Dunollie at 2.30 and Blackball and Kumara, at Kumara. A friendly junior match will be played between Barrytown and Marist, at Wingham Park, while third grade matches are set down for Wingham Park and Dunollie.
Marist juniors v. Barrytown, Wingham Park, 2.30 p.m.—P. Behan, M. Power, P. Grogan, McGirr, Gough, Hay, Price, Hopkins, P. O’Brien, Knapp, Greaney, Crase, Morel, Blanchfield.
