AUSTRALIAN WOOL
NEW SEASON’S ESTIMATES

At a joint conference of the Australian Woolselling Brokers’ Council, and the Australian Woolgrowers’ Council, a statement was read estimating that the Australian wool clip for 1936-37 will be 3,036.000 bales, compared with 3,140,000 in 1934-25. The average bale, new season’s clip, will be 30511)., compared with 3081 b. last year. It is estimated that 18 per cent, of the new clip will consist of crossbred and strong-wool breeds, the remainder being Merino. It z is expected that 2,760,000 bales will be received through brokers’ stores all over the Commonwealth. The selling season will open at Sydney on August 31. There are now more than 1,420,000 bales offering before Christmas.
