The failures of the Indian cricketers, who have not won a match, and lost six, are causing much concern in India.
Critics are urging the Board of Control to take drastic steps to avoid ignominy. They advocate the displacement of Kaharajah Vizanagram from the captaincy, in favour of C. K. Nayudu, or Wazirali. Nayudu’s brother, C. S., who is a googly bowler, is now flying to England to strengthen the attack. MATCH WITH DURHAM. LONDON, June 10. _ India, first ,174. Durham, first 7/95 MANAGER’S DEFENCE.

Major Brittain Jones, manager of the Indian cricketers, stating that the Bombay criticism does not represent Indian opinion, .says that there is every confidence in Vizianagram, who fully justified his selection for the captaincy. “We have had a run of bad luck, not because it is a poor side or badly captained. We have been unfortunate with casualties and bad weather. It is not cricket to blackguard the players because they have lost a few games.”
