The police, who are investigating the disappearance of Alexander Collins (Assistant Lottery-Director), have almost abandoned hope of finding him alive. A search of the rough scrub country near the week-end cottas?© which Collins owned at North Sydney has commenced.
BROUGHTON CENTENARY. SYDNEY, May 29.
The official opening service of the Bishop Broughton Centenary celebrations was held in St. Andrew’s Cathedral, last night, in the presence of one of the largest assemblages in the history of the Anglican Church in Australia. A brilliant touch was the procession of Archbishops, Bishops, and others occupying high office in the Anglican Church, who are in Svdney from all par(s of Australia, and other parts of the Empire. The lesson was read by Archbishop Averill. • Bishop Darcy, delivering the sermon. said that the Church did well to honour the memory of Bishop Broughton. His was a noble example of untiring work. He had shown the highest qualities, amid .great difficulties, of a true Christian hero.
