ACCOUNT OF IIIS ORDEAL. LONDON, March 24. The rescue of a man from a chimney, in which he had been wedged for 12 hours, had a sequel yesterday at Guildhall 'Policecourt. James Boorman, 30, a dock labourer, of Hartingdon House, Walworth, was charged with breaking and entering a warehouse at Aidgate High-street. Police-Sergt. Hattar stated that al 845 on Saturday morning, in consequence of a message, he went on the roof of the warehouse, and after crawling over a number of skylights he heard a man’s voice coming from a chimney. ‘‘l shouted to the man,” -..aid the sergeant, “asking him how he got there. “He replied, ‘For God’s sake get me out of here. I have been here since 11 o'clock last night. I will not in suit your intelligence by saying I fell down. J was hoping to climb down the chimney steps and get into the premises of Noah Cohen, the occupier. “I then sent- for the fire brigade,” continued the. sergeant. “When they arrived a rope was lowered to the man, but he was unable to retain a grasp on il owing io his exhausted condition. “He was fed with meat extract until the firemen had broken down the wall of the chimney and released him. After being treated <it St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, ho was taken to the Mincries police-s' ition.” On that e’- - 'nee Boorman was remanded until next Monday.
