RIFLE SHOOTING
BRUNNER, DEFENCE CLUB At the week-end on the Taylorville Rifle Range a match was fired between Westport Chib and Brunnertoji Defence Rifle Clubs, the latter club winning, after an interesting shoot by 14 points. Brunner thus complete the 1935-1936 season undefeated. The following were the scores: — WESTPORT
the results of the championships being— Championship Belt: G. Smith 983, T. Gutbei'let 945, C. Buckman 939. Handicap Championship: G. Smith 983, T. Gutberlet 983, G. Nimmo 981. The tie between the two leaders will be shot off next week. Rifleman T. Gutberlet tied for the Handicap Championship last year, but was defeated by Rifleman C. Buckman in the shoot-off.
GREY DEFENCE CLUB The fourth competition for Patron E. R. Moss’s trophies was fired off on the Cobden Range yesterday. Rflm. W. Garth shot well to top the score with 96. The following were the leading scores. Conditions: 11 shots at 300 vards and 10 shots at 500 yards; Rflm 300 yds. 500 yds. Hep. Tt.l;
Counting the best 3 out of 4 shoots, and still one more shoot to go, the following are the leading aggregates: Rflm. W. Garth 293. Rflm. M. Garth 2.95. Rflm J.' Prendergast 284, Rflm. S. Davy 280. Rflm. T. Garth 280, Rflm. C. Richardson 279. Championship (E. R. Moss Cup): With only one more shoot to go Rflm. S. Davy with a grand total of 1426 for the 15 shoots is now assured of he championship. Rflm, C. Richardson with 1407 is the runner-up. Handicap Championship (Dr. Morice Memorial Shield): Rflm. S. Davy 1433 still leads in the Handicap Champion-1 ship, closely followed by Rflm. / M. Garth wth 1432. Rflm. C. Richardson, 1419, Rflm. T. Garth 1412, Rflm. J. Prendergast 1402. Rflm. M. Garth is in a good position to. win, with a 13 point lead from Rflm. C. Richardson, as according to the conditions, the winner of the championship cannot take the handicap championship. •
