STARVED TO DEATH
CHICKEN FOR HIS DOG. LONDON, March 21. Alfred Cavanagh, 63, who was found dead at his home in Cooper Street, Gorton, Manchester, neglected himself and his food, but brought home chicken bones'for his dog. His death was stated at the inquest yesterday to be due to heart failure, accelerated by malnutrition and neglect, and a verdict to this effect was recorded. Threepence-halfpenny was the only money found in the house, but a bankbook showed a credit of £OOO, while he also possessed securities worth £l,OOO, which had been entrusted to a woman.
I Cavannagh retired in Decemb af;ter 40 years with one firm.
