The newspaper “Nichi Nichi” reports that the Dutch have seized two Japanese pearling boats without reason in the Sele Strait, to the west of Papua, and have impounded them in Ambon Bay. It is surmised that the Dutch have been alarmed and are trying to hamper the Japanese -expansion. The Japanese Foreign 'Office is reported to be inquiring.

MANDATED ISLES. TOKIO. April 16. The former Navy Minister, Baron Osumi, who is a member of the Supreme War Council, sailed to-day for a month’s tour of inspection of the mandated territory.
