GERMAN PRESS. BERLIN. April 5. Although the attempt to draw a distinction as between the attitude of the. British Government and, that of British public opinion regarding the German proposals and regarding the Military Staff talks continues unabated in the German newspapers, the papers also emphasise that the next word lies with France, whom they will attempt to persuade that the best policy for France is to accept the German proposals as the basis for negotiation, promising that any counter-proposals would' be seriously considered.
