DEATH SENTENCES PASSED. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.) SYDNEY, March 26. In the Criminal Court to-day, Percival Henry Thomson, aged 53, a farmer, was found guilty of murdering his wife at Paramatta, reported on December 27. He was sentenced to death. , Much evidence was given on behair of the defence that Thomson, who was a worried man, was suffering from melancholia. He murdered his wife as well as his mother-in-law., It was stated that he did so while temporarily insane. VICAR’S ASSAILANT. MELBOURNE, March 26. Edward Cornelius, who was found guilty of murdering Reverend Harold Laceby Cecil, at St. Saviour’s Vicarage, Fitzroy, was to-day sentenced to death.
