WELLINGTON, February 5
Under the direction of the Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Nash, a committee has, been, set up, with an office in Parliament; Buildings, to carry out investigations. into the price fixation scheme of the Government for primary produce, and the method by which the scheme can be put into operation. . There was a .meeting of the Dairy Board to-day,, when consideration was given to the views of the .Government on problems associated with marketing of dairy produce recently conveyed to tiro Board. No statement was made by the Board after this morning’s meeting. , RESEARCH COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, February 5. Owing to the. absence from New Zealand of Professors Denham and Riddet, a vacancy occurred on thej Dominion Research Council. This, itj was, announced to-day, has been filled by Mr. J. W. Ranstead, of Matangi. Mr ftaristead is a graduate of Lincoln College, and is well-known for the research work he has carried out on his property in connection with grassland management. ... •
