NAPIER, December 16. “1 was in Napier a few hours after the earthquake. What has been accomplished since seems almost like a dream,” said Mr Semple, Minister of Public Works, at Napier to-day. “1 congratulate the citizens. Such people are of a type worth while. Anything 1 can do to help Napier will be done. 1 will investigate all the requests thoroughly, and with a sympathetic soul.” The Minister added that if any community was deserving of consideration, in the Dominion, it was Napier. NELSON, December .16. Tlie cricket match between Nelson College and New Plymouth Boys’ High School was continued to-day, in brilliant weather. The feature of the morning’s play was a chanceless century by Donnelly, the visiting team’s captain. Score at luncheon was: — New Plymouth, second innings: IS3 for 6 wickets (Donnelly, not out 113).
