> MONTHLY MEETING. \ The monthly meeting of the Plun- - ket Committee was held in the rooms yesterday afternoon; present: Mesdames O’Brien, Clark, Harris, Phillips, Meldrum, Kamafi, Fredericks, Marks, Barrett, Baty, Wilde, Leahy, Fletcher, Howatt and Miss Anderson. Apologies were received from Mesdames Dennehy, Bunt, Wallis, Wilkinson, Casher and from the Runanga Committee. Mrs. O’Brien presided. » Mrs. Dennehy was granted leave of absence during her visit to England,, and Mrs. O’Brien was elected President during Mrs. Dennehy’s absence. Mrs. Barrett was -elected as acting President. Mrs; Cunningham forward- , ed, her resignation front the Commit- ■ tee, owing to her leaving the district. Her resignation was accepted with regret. 1 . The monthly accounts were passed for payment. The nurses’ report for November stated: Headquarters—Visits to homes. New cases 28, old cases 67, .total 95. Visits to Rooms: Adults 307, babies 238, children 91; total 636. New cases 17. Outstations. —Visits to homes. New cases 1 35, old cases 144; total 179. Visits to rooms, adults 247, babies 208, children 65; total 520. New cases 30, transfers 2, babies under supervision 443, children 130. Letters to mothers 19, telephone calls 28. There were two new subscribers this month. After the meeting the Committee met Miss, Fitzgibbon, Nursing Adyiser to the Council, who has been paying a visit to the Branch. Mrs. O’Brien on behalf of the Committee, extended a welcome to her. Miss Fitzgibbon congratulated the Branch orr its excellent progress and was pleased with the manner in which the work was carried out by the various Committees, and advised the Branch not to open up any new districts at present, as the nurses had as much work as they can manage. She thought it was apparent that there was work for another nurse in this district, but that would entail greater expense for the Branch. Miss Fitzgibbon regretted ' that she was unable to visit Runanga, Blackball, Ross and Hari Hari, but hoped to do so at a future date. The Committee entertained Miss Fitzgibbon at afternoon tea.
