GREY CLUB’S SEASON CLOSES. The official conclusion of the 1935 season of the Greymouth Golf Club took place on the Kaiata links on Saturday afternoon, when there was a good attendance of members. Several competitions were played, and afternoon tea was served by the ladies. Declaring the season officially closed, the President, Mr W. Meldrum, said this year s had been most successful season, and the ciun had experienced an outstanding in " crease in membership. The weather had been good, and the links had been maintained in splendid order by the caretaker, Mr J. Cairney, thus contributing considerably to the success of the season. A dance was held in the United Paviliion on Saturday evening.

SATURDAY’S COMPETITIONS. The competitions played on Saturday resulted:— ’ Men: Long driving (senior) —M. Smith; intermediate —H. S. Ray; junior—R. S. Morgan. Ladies: Driving (senior) Miss N. Tennent; junior—Miss C. Tennent. Approaching—Miss C. Tennent. Putting—Mrs McCarthy. The President presented trophies for -the above competitions; and alsothe following trophies won during the season: — • , • ' MEN: Senior championship cup: P. Warnes; runner-up, T. W. Daly. Intermediate championship: L. Sullivan; runner-up, M. McKechnie. Junior championship: G. S. Hay; runner-up, R. G. Morgan. Orkney Cup: J. J. Agar. Four Horseman Cup: A. H. Ihle. The Cup for captain versus vicecaptain’s match was presented to H. C. Garde, vice-captain. The Thorpy Cup, for best gross score during tlie season, was won by Mr C. Smith. LADIES: Senior championship: Miss N. Tennent. Junior championship: Mrs Wilkinson. Omoto Cup: Miss N. Tennent. Miss Kelly’s Silver Cup: Mrs Dhyberg. Tennent trophy for ladies’ foursome: Mrs Hannan and Miss J. Hambleton. WELLINGTON FINALS. WELLINGTON, November 4. J. L. Black won the Hutt Golf Club Championship, defeating C. Armstrong 9/8 over thirty-six holes. The finalists in the Miramar Club Championship are H. A. Black and K. Jeffery.
