OPERA HOUSE “Murder in the Clouds” to b'e screened at the Qpera House to-night; is a -.murder mystery drama with a. thrilling romance. There -is an all .star= cast, including Lyle Talbot, Ann; Dvorak, Gordon Westcott, RobertLight, Geprge Cooper, Charles Wil-; son, Henry/O’Neill and Russell Hicks. MONDAY “Behold My Wife,” Sylvia Sidney’s new starring picture comes to the Opera House on Monday and Tuesday with “Take a Chance.” -Miss Sidney is this time cast as an Indian maiden .and brings all the charm to the role that audiences have come to expect of her. Gene Raymand, who plays opposite gives able support. The cast includes H. B. Warner and Laura Hope Crews. The story is of a wealthy son of prominent parents who has a fight with his family over a girl, loses and drives his car grimly across the country, to crash it in New Mexico. There he meets Tonita, the Indian girl. An idea strikes him; what better way to revenge himself on his family than to marry her and to bring this, “savage” back to-their exclusive salon as his wife? This he does, and what follows is sometimes grim and sometimes amusing, leading to a dramatic denouement. j 1

t Fifty chorus girls, also .Tames Dunn, Lillian Roth, Cliff Edwards, June 'Knight, Charles “Buddy” Rogers, Lilian Bond, Dorothy Lee and Loha Andree; a battery of song writers and lyricists and the expert production of Messrs Laurence Schwab. William Rowland and Monte Brice, combine to make “Take‘a Chance,” one of the delights of the current season. Beautiful music, beautiful girls, outstanding work and the all-star cast and a song story full of thrills, laughter and nonsense are carefully blended into a picture that is a pleasure to sit through, not once but several times.

REGENT THEATRE A double feature programme will be shown at the Regent Theatre.tonight. “Song at Eventide" stars Fay Compton, the well-known English actress, and the large east includes Lester Matthews, Nancy Burne and Minnie .Rayner. On the musical side “Song at Eventide” promises to be outstanding, as five popular vocal numbers come into the story, including the lilting “Gigolcttc,” the famous “Vienna, City of My Dreams,” “Dreaming” and “My Treasure.” - It was indeed a nimble mind that envisaged the film possibility of a

story linking up with world-famous “Londonderry Air” more popularly known as “Danny Boy” and the talking film version fully exploits this haunting melody, weaving round it -a welter of song and sentiment, comedy and dramatic appeal, which rarely fails to send onlookers home delighted with their evening’s entertainment.| A new 14-year-old discovery, Ronnie' Hepworth, who was selected from i over 500 applicants for the title role, | makes his debut in “Danny Boy” and; in which he has made a decided hit. Frank Forbes-Robertson, the English actor-manager, also plays a leading, part, and the supporting cast includes Dorothy Dickson, Denis O’Neil and i Cyril Ritchard. The Greymouth Plunket Society will hold a Rose' Day at the Town Hall on Friday, November 22. The hall will be beautifully decorated and the attendants will be. garbed in appropriate costumes. The various stalls will include flowers, sweets, cakes, needlework, delicatessen, jumble and afternoon tea. Several sideshows will be installed.

SCHAEF’S HALL. Schaef’s Hall to-night will again be full of merriment and gaiety with the . old time dance and music by the 1 Gaiety Orchestra. There will be streamler Waltzes and Lucky Spots to add Ito the merriment of the evening. If ; you cannot come along to the dance listen in to it. Runanga and Wallsend buses will run after the dance.
