The P?kin r Ye>Wlfct^t -Gareth Jones (ex-secretary of Mr Lloyd George) had been released, turned out to be untrue, like another rumour that he had escaped and was going to Mukden. ; < It now appears that his captors transferred him to a second gang of bandits whom Chinese troops pursued. To-day the troops found Jones’s body riddled by three bullets, near Paochang. where he was originally captured. RUGBY. August 16. As yet no official confirmation has reached London of the press messages reporting that Gareth Jones has been found murdered. AUSTRALIAN ARRESTED. TOK 10. August 16. It is reported that Frank William Lowe, of Melbourne, has been arrested at Shimonoseki. for alleged photographing of scenery in a fortified zone in South Kotea. from aboard a ferry steamer on a trip from Fusan to Shimonoseki.
