Mr J. Livesay, who has been cardtaker of the Seddon. Memorial Institute Library for the past ten years, has resigned and from eighteen applicants. Mr J. Garvey lias been appointed to the position. The Runanga League Club held a concert i" I’’? Miners’ Hall on Friday and there was a satisfactory attendance. A well varied programme was presented, among those contributing being: Misses J. Munson, T. Smith, - Gallon, G. Higson, M. Burgoyne, V. Millar. A. Radcliffe, J. Bell, Mrs R. Unwin, and Messrs P. Coll and Mr I-I. Bootc. Miss Z. Munson, and Mr J). Kendrick wefc the accompanists. The Mayor, Mr R. McTaggart presided, and thanked the artists, particularly those from , Grcymouth for their assistance.
