TELLS HOW HE “DIED”
‘FURIOUS FIGHT IN TUNNEL.’ Dr G. B. Kirkland, formerly a Government medical officer in Southern Rhodesia, told the International Institute for Physical Research in London recently, how he died and came to life again.
The incident happened in September. 1913, when, after a long series of desperate operations. Dr Kirkland said he “officially died, and remained in suspended animation for some time." He went on;
“Suddenly, t.o my intense surprise, I saw myself lying on my back. Then’ I found myself and others very faintly discernible in a tunnel, like ;i railway tunnel, with a little* speck of light at the end.
“They wore all hurrying along as fast as they could, and I did not se, ni to make much headway, t was terribly cold, and I kept pulling round myself some grey garments which proved of no use in keeping - out the cold. After a long struggle, 1 managed to get into a fairly good stride, and tho cold was not so bad.
“Suddenly, someone, or something, Hashed up in front of mt*, and blog ted out the light. Instantly the intense cold returned. | was furious, and fought violently with this something or somebody. j n t ] l( . middle o f Hie struggle everything went black again, and the next thing I kney, •■'■is
