MAN’S “CONFESSION”
SUSPECTED OF 555 CASES.
LONDON, April 14. Alleged to have been connected with 555 cases of house and shop breaking, and to have given a detective nearly a week’s work in writing down his supposed confession, Henry Middlehurst Robinson, 21, of Claudiastreet. Liverpool, was at Liverpool yesterday committed for trial at the Assizes. Mr A. Smith, prosecuting, said that Robinson was believed to have been connected with 555 cases, and the money and property involved totalled ,C I.G9S. lie said to a detective when arrested: “1 will make a statement which will keep you writing for a ,vcek,” and he did in fact give a detec.ive just upon a week's work. He had said that he spent the money in enjoying himself and gave the jewellery to friends.
