(4) County shoppers are within 45 minutes of Greymouth. (5) Did Westport give Saturday half day a fair trial ? NO! Conditions are totally different to-day. Mines only work a five-day . . week. (6) During the last two years all mills have worked more Saturdays than any other day. They have no set holiday. (7) Ask any shop assistant what day he or she prefers ? Would miners, mill vyorkers, office staffs, etc., be satisfied with the midweek half-day?
