KUMARA SPORTS
YESTERDAY’S RESULTS. Fine weather prevailed for the Kumara sports yesterday, and a varied programme was enjoyed by a large number of spectators. The chopping events attracted a fair number of competitors and some close finishes were witnessed. The placed men in the Maiden 12in. underhand were N. Inglis 1, G. Pool 2, J. Neame 3. The upright 12in. went to L. Youngman, with C. Neame 2 and J. Roberts 3. The 14in. underhand was won by W. Maloney, L. Youngman being secqnd and J. Roberts third. The school sports were run strictly to the time scheduled, and some keen competition ensued for the sports banner, which was won by the Convent School by 71 points to 55.
