GENERAL BOOTH

FAREWELL TO AUSTRALIA. LBX OABL® —PBESS ABRN.—-COPYBIGHT.) SYDNEY, April 23. General Evangeline Booth departed this evening for New Zealand aboard the Wanganella. In a farewell message,, she said: “The love with which the people of Australia me, the ready response given to my appeals, the enthusiasm with which people have risen to high standards of devotion and service to the Almighty have far surpassed my expectations. I was greatly impressed with the wonderful organisation of the Salvation Army in Australia. Leaders of the Government have stirred my deep admiration by their devotion to the cause of the people, particularly to the pooi* of the land. All have done their part, including the Press, to make my visit the unprecedented triumph which it has been. Farewell, dear Australia, you will ever live in my heart!”
