Sinningtbn, Yorks, yesterday beat the world’s j Jersey yearly milk record, having i yielded in 359 days 23,691ibs of milk. j This beat the record of the American I cow Abigail of Hillside of 23,6771b5. | She is still giving .over five gallons | of milk a day, and as her full record ' 0f.365 days does not end until March; 15. there is every prospect of her adding considerably to her total.
Her average daily milk yield is 66 lbs. Her highest daily yield was 86:, lbs of milk on June 4. 19:14. when she gained the world’s Jersey record by exceeding that of 863 lbs set up a few days before by Bollhayes Mays Sunrise, a cow owned by Mr. Gordon McWhilliam, of Romsey, Hants.
Her record total is equal to over 10J , tons of milk, or about 30 times her j own live-weight, and she has therefore] averaged her own weight in milk every ' 12i days for 12 months.
