The figures for the corresponding week last year were 117 killed and 3831 in■)UA new edition of the highway code, which has been revised in the light of recent legislation and regulations designed to make for greater safety on roads, will come up for approval by Parliament after Easter. The code lavs down rules of conduct for all road users, including pedestrians. The Transport Minister is credited with the intention of bringing it to the notice of all householders by sending a copy to each, by post. The printing of code is said to be the biggest task ever undertaken by the Government Stationery Office.
