N.Z. GOLD MINES

EXPERTS’ INVESTIGATIONS. [PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, April 20. There are opportunities for goldmining enterprise in New Zealand, if they are soundly conducted, said Mr G. H. Hutton, one of the four consulting engineers who have been on a tour of inspection in New Zealand, on behalf of financial interests in London. They travelled 4000 miles, visited 26 plants in the South Island, and nine in the North. Mr Hutton said they had been given every assistance by the Government; which realises the importance of gold to the Dominion, and from what they could see, the control of gold production was m good hands. He and his colleagues had seen the possibilities of New Zealand, and future developments depended on the decision of London companies. The party will leave by the Mariposa to-night.
