LEAGUE FOOTBALL
PIRATES’ ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Pirates’ Rugby League Football Club, yesterday, Mr. G. O’Connor presided over an attendance of more than thirty members . Prior to the ordinary business, the meeting stood In silence as a mark of respect to the late Mr. E. Martyn, father of Mr. L. Martyn, senior captain. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The following officers were elected:—Patron: Mr. A. Lees, sent.; President: Mr. J. R. Anderson; Vice-Pre-sidents: Messrs. A. Anisy, A. Kyle, J. Anisy, junr.. W. Sharp, senr., H. Moore, W. Davies, A. Nelson. P. Keating, W. Chunn, R. Harrington, W. Ryan, R. Leach, J. Brown, junr., D. Harvey, J. Stokes, H. Leach, S. Slewart, F. Faulkner, G. Anderson (Kaiata), J. Hassall, D. Foniston, Mesdames J. D. Wingham and A. Marshall; Treasurer: Mr. R. Donovan; Secretary: Mr. G. O'Connor; Committee: Messrs. W. Ryan, M. Kennedy, J. O’Connor, R« Donovan, B. Ramsay, B. Harrington, and the President and Secretary; Delegate to West Coast Rugby League: Mr. B. Ramsey; Club Captain: Mr. C. O'Connor; Delegate to Junior Advisory Board; Mr. J. O’Connor. Senior selectors nominated were Mr N. Griffiths and Mr. W. Ryan; junior selectors nominated were Messrs. J. Stokes and B. Ramsey. Referees nominated were Messrs. W. Ryau, S. Smith and A. Fielding. Messrs. A. Anisy, B. Ramsey, L. Hunter. J. Stokes, and W. Barlow were nominated for election to the West Coast Rugby League's Management Committee. ...... The President was instructed to interview Mr. N. Griffiths with tit© request that he accept nomination for the Management Committee. Senior, junior, and third grade teams were nominated for the West Coast Centre’s competitions. A fourth grade team will probably be entered later. Eight new members were elected. Tlie election of team captains was held over till the first playing Sunday- -..... Members’ subscriptions were fixed at senior 5/-, junior 2/6, third grade
It was decided to accept the offer of the Marist Club to a practice match on Sunday next. The Secretary was instructed to forward a letter of appreciation to Mrs. A. Marshall, for the use of the dressing room at Revington's Hotel, during last season. The committee will meet next Friday, for the purpose of arranging for the hire of training quarters.
