LONDON, March 31

Hoping to solve the problems of conquering Everest, also high flying, 12 men, under 30, are assembling at Antsfagasta, from all parts of the world in April, forming a high altitude expedition under the leadership of Bryan Matthews.

They will ocepy a laboratory 14,000 feet up among the snows of the Andes to undergo exercises for the purpose of recording symptoms and heart beats, especially using a stationary bicycle ergometer, recording the energy expended while pedalling. Breath will be caught in a bag for testing. The expedition will‘also examine the effects of physical efforts, at various altitudes, on the brain, which it is believed gives out first, recalling the Everest climber who forgot what a camera was for.
