VICTORIAN ELECTIONS

POLL ON SATURDAY.

[BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.]

MELBOURNE, February 28.

The Stale elections will be held on Saturday, after a particularly quiet campaign. There has been no outstanding indication that the National Ministry is likely to be refused another term of office.

Probably the most interesting development of the campaign has been the open declaration of war upon Ministerial candidates by the Public Service Association, because Sir Robert Argyle would not agree to promise salary restorations in full. Mr Tunnecliffe, the Labour leader, has given tho required promise, and the Public Service vote may have an important effect in the few seats where the results may be close.
