CONFERENCE DECISIONS
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION,] BLENHEIM, February 25. At the Fire Brigades’ conference, further remits dealing with demonstrations were considered as follows: Waipukurau: “That the competition stands on all working sides of the platform be weatherboarded to the window sill, at all future demonstrations.” —Carried. W-aipukurau: “That the sill space project two inches from the face of the window.” —Lost. Hastings: “That'after the disc is struck, the stand pipeman may ease the water down, but must maintain a jet sufficient, to pass over the disc.” —Lost.
Waipukurau: “That spanners shall be of the working pattern, and not weigh less than ten ounces.” —Carried.
Cambridge: “That all ambulance events shall be judged by an ambulance officer and not by a doctor.” — Carried. The "'Executive: “That in motor events, where two deliveries are in use from one standpipe. Number One must, pass a mark S 5 ,I’eet, from the plug before the order to turnout.” — Carried.
Patea: “That in the Gilbert Mem orial, a white line be drawn two feet from the plug, and the competitor shall be allowed to place the stand pipe coil branch in any position be hind this line.” —Carried. Sumner: “That the Association donate a shield or cup to the volunteer brigade gaining the highest points in the aggregate.”—Withdrawn. Gore: “That the Executive be empowered to review the points for the Championship Shield, with the object of making the basis of points per man the same whether one, two, three, four or five-men events; also a more equitable difference between first, scond, third and fourth places.”— Carried.
