;' . _ ROME. February 7. Signor Mussolini shows concern at a decline in the birth rate of Italy. This is evidenced by o vigorous appeal on the part, of his paper. “Il Popolo d’ltalia,” which asks: “"Who is going to drink the farmers’ milk if there are no babies? No feiver Uian two and a-half millions have failed to be born during the last twelve years. This means a gap In our „ manhood four times as great as the loss caused by .the World War. Our fatherland has been cheated of a million future soldiers, and every branch of industry is suffering through this low birth rate.”
