METEOROLOGICAL
PHASES OF THE MOON SUMMER TIME. DECEMBER, 1934.
THE SUN The sun sets to-day at 8.16 p.m.; rises to-morrow at 4.30 a.m. WEATHER REPORT Wind, east; barometer, 30.11; thermometer, 71; tides, moderate; bar, moderate swell; river, normal; sky blue. WEATHER FORECAST. General inference: A moderate anticyclone is now centred east of the South Island, and a shallow depression covers the western Tasman Sea, but the weather is influenced largely by a tropical cyclone, centered northeast of the Tonga Group. This is likely to check disturbances advancing from the west. Forecast: Light to moderate east to north winds; weather fine, with moderate temperatures; seas smooth to moderate. AT OTHER CENTRES.
