[FEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] GRENADIERS ANu MAORIS. MARTON, December 17. A spectacle unprecedented in the Dominion tour of the Grenadiers’ Band took place at a civic welcome on Sunday, when Major Miller was presented by Paikea, secretary to T. W. Amid scenes of enthusiasm, Major Miller permitted the mat to be draped over his uniform. He reciprocated by calling for cheers for Marton and the Maoris and specially requested the Ratana Band to march with the Grenadiers to the Park, where a crowd, estimated at 3,500, assembled.
