SERVICE OF MUSIC. Tho special choral service and organ recital, held last evening, in St. John’s Presbyterian Church, was attended by a large congregation. The programme was as follows:; —Organ: “The King shall rejoice” (Handel), “Overture to Messiah” (Handel). Recitative: “Comfort Ye, My People” (Handel). Air: “Every Valley shall be Exalted” (Handel), Mr H. E. Andersoh. Chorus: “And the Glory of the Lord” (Handel). Recitative: “Then shall the Eyes of the Blind” (Handel). Air: “He shall feed His Flock” (Handel), Mrs W. H. Coltman. Air: “Come Unto Him'' (Handel), Mrs E. Rosewail. Carol: “On Christmas Day” (Simper). Air: “He Was Despised” (Handel), Miss N. Tennent. A Christmas cantata, “The Nativity of Christ” (Caleb Simper). Organ: Prelude. Recitative: “And the Angel Gabriel” (Simper), Mr A. Airns. Chorus: “He shall be Great” (Simper). Bass and soprano solos with chorus: “My Soul doth magnify the Lord” (Simper), Mr A. Stent and Mrs Fell. Chorus and bass solo: “Good Tidings of Great Joy*’ j(Simper), Mr T. Tennent. Tenor and baritone solos: “Arise, Shine! Thy Light is come” (Simper), Mr H. E. Anderson and Mr A. Airns. “Celtic Pastorale” (Lindsay). Solo: “Nazareth” (Gounod), Mr G Stewart. Bass and soprano solos and chorus: “When Jesus was born (Simper), Mr and Mrs E. Rosewall. Chorus: “Break Forth into Joy” (Simper). Baritone solo and chorus: “Righteousness and Peace” (Simper), Mr G.
