N.S.W. LAKES CHAMPIONSHIP. [by CABLE PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, December 9. The Lakes Open Golf Championship was won by the American, Craig Wood, who in the last round yesterday, established a course record of sixtyseven, being five under par. Other noteworthy rounds were those of the Americans, Shute and Laffoon, who did sixty-eight. The Sydneyite, Bolger, who was co-leader with H. Cooper (U.S.A.), on Friday, disappointed yesterday. Ferrier gained the honour of being the leading amateur. The leading scores were: Craig Wood 72/76—283; Runyan (U.S.A.) 67/74—287; Laffoon 72/68—288; Shute 68/73—290; Cooper 74/76—293; Diegel (U.S.A.) 75/69—295; Kirkwood (on Friday, 76/71), 72/77—296; Ferrier, N.S.W. (73/79 on Friday) 71/76—299; McKenzie (77/73 on Friday), 73/78— 301; Kelby (N.S.W.) 78/75—301; Thompson (72/78 on Friday) 77/74 — 301; Richardson 78/75 —301; Bolgei--78/82—303. SARAZE'N’S TOUR. WELLINGTON, December 9. Sarazen appeared in an exhibition match on the Hutt links to-day. Partnered by Shaw, Sarazen defeated the Wellington professionals, R. C. Butters and N. Fuller one up. Good golf was seen in this match, each player recording 72. In singles in the afternoon, Sa-razen beat Shaw three and one, going out in 36, and returning in 35.
