SYDNEY WOOL SALES, [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN.—COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, November 13, At to-day’s wool sales 10,529 bales were offered, and 9283 were sold, while a further 1155 bales were privately sold. Prices for the best lines of fleece wools were again in the buyers favour, especially where the wool was deficient in length. All of the other sorts were firm. There was strong general competition, with increased support from Germany and Japan. Greasy merino made 19d, LONDON SALES. LONDON, November 13. The wool available for the sales on November 20 totals 217,600 bales, including new arrivals of 65,000 Australian and 14,600 New Zealand. It is expected that about 176,500 bales will be catalogued. The upward movement in British Government stocks continued this morning. War Loan rose to the new high record quotation of 107, while Consols 2i per cents, were quoted at 90, the highest for 28 years. Later in the day, there was a reaction on selling orders, and at the close War Loan was quoted at £1065 and Consols at 883.

BUNDI DREDGING CAPITAL. At -an extraordinary meeting of Bundi Tin Dredging Company, no liability, in Sydney, shareholders approved a resolution increasing the capital by £21,250, by increasing by 5/- the amount payable in respect of each of the 85,000 shares of 25/- each issued. The capital is increased from £106,250 to £127,500. The acting-chairman, Mr R. S. Norris, said the directors did not expect to call up more than 2/6 a share of the new capital without first submitting the proposal to shareholders. The company recently commenced the transfer of one of its tin dredges from Malay to a gold dredging area near Greymouth. NEW RIVER DREDGING During the past few months, a portion of the New River has been prospected for gold by means of boring and encouraging results have been obtained, the values from 24 bore holes and 2 shafts having averaged lOd per yard with gold at £4 per ounce. A further series of check bores were put down by Mr. Wylie, boring superintendent of Hokitika. The check bores returned values averaging 12.26 d over seven holes. A Diesel-driven sluice box dredge of the most modern close connected bucket type is to be erected with a weekly capacity of approximately 12,000 cubic yards. Estimated working costs should not exceed 2d per yard and the life of the dredge is estimated at from seven to ten years.

BANK OF NEW ZEALAND WELLINGTON, November 14. The Bank of New Zealand directors announce that an interim dividend of a shilling pei’ share on ordinary shares of the Bank, and three and three-quarters per cent, on the D. long term mortgage shares, will be paid in New Zealand currency on December 8.
