MELBOURNE CENTENARY
PREMIER’S GRATIFICATION. [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] MELBOURNE, November 13. Gratification at the loyalty of the welcome by the public to the Duke of Gloucester, was expressed by Sir S. Argyle, the Premier, who said the departure of the Duke, standing alone at the stern of H.M.S. Sussex, as she receded into darkness, was a magnificent spectacle to be treasured in the memory of the thousands who witnessed it. With the departure of the Duke, Melbourne has settled down to enjoy the other events of the Centenary programme, including many international sporting championships, beginning with the golf tourney on Thursday. In the bowling Hunt (N.Z.) won the fourth round 23/14. but were defeated in the fifth 12/14.
