WEDDING

FOGARTY—GOODSON. The wedding took place at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Wellington, on Wednesday, of Mary Eileen, daughter of Mrs C. M. Goodson, Kelburn, and the late Mr Go (- son, to Paul Joseph (Dr.), son of Mr and Mrs M. J. Fogarty, Greymouth Arum lilies decorated the altar and massed Iceland poppies in shades of pink were at the altar rails. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Rev. Father A. J. Cullen, S.M., and Miss Milligan was at the organ. During the service and the signing of the register, a choir of old girls and pupils of the Sacre Cocur Convent, Island Bay, sang and Mr J. Newton Goodson rendered “Ave Maria” with violin obligato, played by Miss Price Lewis. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr J. N. Goodson. wore a beautiful gown of ivory satin, made on long slim lines, with a dropped .shoulder line and high lace yoke, out.'iiiad with tiny pearls. Her train was

formed of cascading flounces from the waist. Her veil of Limerick lace, lent by the bridegroom’s mother, ’ was caught to the head with a. baudeau of pearls and she carried a bouquet of cream roses and mixed flowers. The four bridesmaids, Misses Myra aud Alison Goodson, sisters of the bride and Misses Pat and Joan Murphy (Dawson. Falls),• were dressed in picture frocks of shell pink flowered organdie, made with little capes, the skirt having two frills falling from the waist line to the hem at

the back. They wore picture hats of lino black straw, trimmed with pink velvet ribbon, tine black net mittens, and carried bouquets of pink blossom. Mr Desmond Eogarty, the bridcci coin’s brother, was best man. and D; i'\ Sligo (Dunedin). Dr P. Kenned.v and Air M. Goodson were groomsmen. The reception was held at I he Royal Oak Hotel, where baskets of Iceland poppies, in shades of j>ink. formed the decoration. Mrs Goodson

received the'guests, wearing a back lace frock with cowl vest of. ilorul ninon, and a black straw hat trimni- d at the. back with multi-coloured ■ flov - crs. Mrs M. J. Fogarty., 'he bridegroom’s mother, wore a putiei ned frock of ecru georgette, and. cape., edged with navy satin. Flei na*y mue hat. was trimmed with ecru lace. When Hr and Mrs I’aul Fogarty left i'or their honeymoon, fhe hitter.wore a suit of navy blue double-backed satin , with navy taffeta hat.
