The Minister of Finance (Mr. Rhodes), to-day announced that interest rates paid on savings deposits by all Canadian chartered banks, Dominion Government Post Office Savings Banks, and the province of Ontario Government Savings Office, will be reduced from 2J to 2 per cent. The reduction will be effective on November 1. COMMON COLD. RUGBY, October 11. By provisions in the will of the late Sir Henry Royce, the motor engineer, research scholarships are to be established at Manchester and London universities, to investigate the cause and cure of the common cold, or the cause and cure of influenza. t <
